Submit to Biopolitics

Biopolitics is an innovative, online educational tool that offers political, cultural, and ethical perspectives on issues at the intersection of medicine and politics. We use video dialogue technology to bring interdisciplinary debates by influential scholars into classrooms (and living rooms) across the globe.

We welcome innovative perspectives from a range of academic disciplines and are interested in content that addresses issues at the intersection of medicine and politics, broadly defined. We are currently accepting proposals for video dialogues, which are the basis of the modules featured on our site. Submissions should include a brief (paragraph-long) proposal for the general topic of the dialogue, as well as the interlocutors discussing the subject. In addition, include a list of 5-8 possible commentators who might contribute “annotations” on the dialogue. The annotations should deepen and explore issues that might have appeared over the course of the conversation. Annotations are not footnoted, but include appropriate links. We compile bibliographies of the sources mentioned in the discussion and annotations for further reading.

Also: if you have used Biopolitics in your teaching, let us know how it went!

We’re currently working on a list of effective Biopolitics teaching exercises that can be adapted for courses in a variety of levels and educational contexts.
